Doctor Dolittle's Garden (1927)-- The next Dolittle tale picks up where Doctor Dolittle's Zoo left off, making it the third adventure in which Tommy Stubbins is featured as character and narrator. And, though the book begins with some canine concerns, its central story is about a proposed voyage more outrageous than any the Doctor has ever undertaken: a trip to the Moon, on the back of a giant moth. The Moth has actually sought out the Doctor for the express purpose of taking him home (we don't yet learn why), and the book ends at what is only the beginning of the lunar adventure!
