Noisy Nora (1929)-- The little girl of this book's title has a bad habit: she's a rude and noisy eater. How her family cures her of her problem makes for a story that Lofting critic Gary D. Schmidt describes as part- nonsense tale, part- cautionary tale. But the book's chief interest seems to be visual; the words are hand-printed by the author, with some of his drawings mixed right into the text. This is another of the rare/hard- to- find ones. |
