Doctor Dolittle's Return (1933)-- Tom Stubbins and the animals have kept a long vigil and are beginning to despair of their friend the Doctor's return from the Moon. But return he does, weak from the journey and grotesquely oversized from prolonged exposure the the lunar environment. After recovering, the naturalist in him is keen to write a book (determined that the longevity of the lunar inhabitants is central to their peace-loving ways, he hopes to apply this lesson to life on earth); however, the doctor in him has many responsibilities which get in the way.
